It is a corporation formed to engage in any lawful act or activity for which corporations may be formed under Ch. 1701 of the Ohio Revised Code.
The purpose of the OTA Service Corp. is to develop and sponsor programs and activities that benefit Ohio townships and their employees.
Current programs offered include liability and property insurance through Ohio Township Association Risk Management Authority (OTARMA), workers’ compensation group/retro rating through Sedgwick, free Business Prime membership with Amazon Business, and website creation & assistance with Shumaker Technology Group (STG).
Lowing is a list of the programs provided by other Ohio local government organizations or potential programs the OTA Service Corp. could offer: website design and maintenance; HR management; cyber services; deferred compensation; energy aggregation; equipment financing; cooperative purchasing; advertising programs; and payroll processing.
The OTA Service Corp. is a for-profit organization that operates independently from the Ohio Township Association and is overseen by a separate three-person board of directors. This board includes a past member of the OTA board of directors, a current county officer, and the current OTA executive director. To ensure the OTA Service Corp.’s decisions align with the OTA’s goals and objectives, an advisory board, comprised of seven OTA Board of Directors, will provide guidance.
